The Alta Wyoming Community FingerSmear

The Alta, WY Elementary School invited me to be their “Artist in Residence” for the year. Together we created an international cultural exchange program based in art. With the help of the community we found 7 “sister” schools around the world. The children created works of art based on fundamental elements – love, shelter, food, family, and we exchanged it with our sister schools. Cultures and traditions were blended into the curriculum throughout the year to enhance the exchange. We also created The Alta Wyoming Community FingerSmear with the students and their families. The whole year was wrapped up with a student lead show and celebration of art works, songs, and poetry from around the world. This was the seed that grew into my Mighty Fingers Facing Change global project.
