Under the Tarps at the Iron Market
We brought Mighty Fingers Facing Change to Haiti and worked in three different areas from the city center to the souther coast. This is a scene from the Iron Market, which was alive with movement, intense odors, hordes of people, and a grittiness not found in many places. Haiti was one of the hardest places I've ever traveled too. The destruction from hurricanes and a recent earthquake seemed nearly insurmountable. The political situation was unstable and the feelings about Americans and the aid we offered were vastly different. This was a humbling and difficult trip that I'm happy I took.
